Scott,

I would think with the larger elevator trim tab you would be able to trim to hold airspeed on final (I surely can not do that with my original "smaller" trim tab and have to hold back pressure with most flap settings even at full nose up trim).

It appears you installed the trim tab on the right side. I installed my trim on the left side as per 6T6 dated 02/03. The longer newer 6T6 dated 08/05 also shows the trim on the left side. Is there a reason you put the trim tab on the right? (The flow swirl from the prop sometimes favors one side -Does the Corviar turn "backward"?)

I asked one of the Heinz sons at the open house this year about the trim tab and if they had considered just making the trim tab longer chord wise, and if I recall correctly, they said they had, but that it would have not looked as nice.

Has anyone on the list added and extension to the smaller tab? I have been thinking of taping on an Al metal plate extension for flight test to see how effective it would be. The down side is that the trim is very sensitive and for elevator trim during cruise I just quickly "beep" the trim. If a tab extension works, It might require slowing down the servo.

Any comments?

N5SL requires full trim up with flaps down and still can't hold a hands-off approach.
Bigger is better. In cruise it requires very little trim. I went from

during my build process and I'm glad I did. The flaps require a larger trim tab.
