I put an extension on my elevator trim tab. After some trial and error,
I ended up installing a piece of .032 on the tab that gives it about 50%
more chord. I bent the part that sticks out past the original tab
downward about 25 degrees so that it increases my nose up trim but
doesn't have much effect on my nose down trim. It's not pretty, but it
works. I also added a bungee cord to the upper elevator cable that
balances the weight of the elevator so that the trim tab doesn't have to
work against that force as well.

Has anyone on the list added and extension to the smaller tab? I have
been thinking of taping on an Al metal plate extension for flight test
to see how effective it would be. The down side is that the trim is
very sensitive and for elevator trim during cruise I just quickly "beep"
the trim. If a tab extension works, It might require slowing down the
servo.
