There has been a lot of discussion regarding the YAK 52 bladders being offered by Dennis Savarese. You should be aware that the test of the “ACCESS PANEL” loading considered both potential g forces at maximum fuel capacity and forces caused by the maximum velocity pressure from the fuel vent system forward facing pickup at Ve and excluded lift pressure of the panel’s wing surface. It was not a simple estimate of fuel weight.
This comment is not intended to warrant anyone’s use of the bladders but simply to indicate that more than simplistic installation of a bladder in a cavity was done.
Comments regarding the Velcro support are generally correct in that its sole purpose is to hold the bladder open. However, the inclusion of foam eliminates the need for the Velcro.
