Hi ,
has anyone tryed the Bio Methanol at Morrisons , its not much cheaper than unleaded but just wandering if anyone has taken the plunge,

unless you have fuel lines rated for alcohol you may find your lines leaking
after a few days
unless you are prepared to purge the system with petrol after use. Methanol
WILL destroy rubber
hoses and seals quite quickly. The other issue you may have, if this
methanol is typical, then
the carbs will likely need to be re-jetted to get enough fuel to run
effectively. Having said that
though if you make the switch the engine should run cooler and remain
virtually carbon free, it is nice to use
provided you set the engine up for it

Right , ok, but they are selling it at dedicated fuel pumps on the forecourt
here in the UK which means that cars and motorcycles are using it which have
the same running components as the rotax/europa combination... dosent it?

Yes, cars and motorcycles do use it but not at 10000 feet!

Hi Trevor,
yes , ok, point taken,
reminds me of when unleaded was introduced to the UK in the early 80's, - "don't use
unleaded - it will burn out the valves", i guess were going to be busy avoiding a lot of broken down cars and motorcycles on the side of the road...
maybe if someone attending the rotax factory flyin could mention
it and possibly get a response and post it,
