Well I am at the Reno Air aces. I was talking to American Propeller / Eagle Engines (They did the engine and prop for our Saratoga) They were recommending the Whirlwind over the MT for the RV-10 due to the fact the Whirlwind is all Carbon fiber composite prop not Wood/composite.
Has any one in the RV-10 world use or have a Whirlwind prop.
I would like to more info on this.
Thanks

Whirlwind customer service should be thoroughly researched before spending the money. They would not repair a three blade Whirlwind system that needed some attention. It was sold to a hobbyist to be shortened and mounted on an airboat. Went with the MT 3 blade. Yes the MT has a wood (dampening) core. Don't ask me how I know.
One of the big advantages of a composite vs. metal prop is the range of repairs that an owner/mechanic can do and the extended life of the product. American Propeller does some damned fine paint jobs on Aero props. I can give you a dozen painted three blade composites and not one will be a Whirlwind.
YMMV

There are a dozen testimonials lurking online. I count six with custom paint jobs flying right now. My collection of painted and flying RV-10s is getting downright exciting.
