I finally got around to putting oil in my newly rebuilt engine, and
cranked her over with my temporary see-through rocker covers in
place. I got up to 55 lbs. oil pressure, at 325 rpm cranking
speed....one plug removed from each cylinder. I could stand outside
the plane and crank it...no prop installed, and no ignition hooked up
yet, but I'm working on it. I was happy to see oil coming down over
the valve springs, and collecting inside the covers. Now I can remove
them and install the stock covers, assured that the oil is getting to
the last place in the line as far as oil delivery goes.
Work on the ignition system continues, after making brackets to hold
the controllers and sensors. I can do part of the wiring, but need to
ask a couple of questions before I can finish the installation, so
that'll postpone any fire-up until Monday....with the prop on, of
 course.
