Dave:

Do you have any video to compare take off with and without your new pipe on
the 582?

Nope, only documentation I can tell you is that oN a GSC prop I run + 2 degrees more pitch that with Stock skystar exhaust. Also the fuel burn seems a bit less ( about 1/2 gallon /hour) less and with more power.

The pipe is very tight inside the cowl but it works well. power band starts about 4800 to 5200 rpm. I am keeping it conservative to ensure the engine has a long life. A 582 you can get about 80 hp out of but life will be shortened and fuel burn would go up. Rotax exhaust makes the 582 run a bit rich with the Mods that Skystar did to the exhaust and hence it had likely about 56 to 58 HP i figure. I would figure that I am around 65 to 68 hp here.

Thanks Dave.

2 deg. Is a lot of pitch so I can see the power increase must have been
considerable.

I was looking at the vid of the L'iLL Buzzard. Certainly doesn't seem to
clear the runway as fast as the 'Fox. Has anyone put one on floats yet?

Noel

I was looking at buying a lil buzzard before I found my Avid. I sent countless emails and left more messages on their answering machine than I did on Airdales, did not get one single return call. I was ready to go buy 3 of them for me and two buddies.. Looks like a nice bird at a great price, but after 7 months of no contact, I forgot about them.
