Hi

As I layout my panel I am wondering about what is the best choice for annuciator lights. I see Stein has some nice LEDS (http://www.steinair.com/lights.htm) that will do the job.

Has anyone found a similar light that will display red/yellow/green on the same light? My Gretz heated pitot has a small board with three LEDS that I would like to combine into a single light.

Inquiring minds need to know

Les,
I’m not sure if you got any responses so here’s my .02. I have the same pitot and recommend you keep the lights as is. One is for power, one for low temp, and one for heat on. I don’t think you would want just one light and it would take some creative electronic wizardry to employ a light with 3 colors available. I just drilled 3 holes in the panel next to the pitot heat switch and glued the lights in place, it works great.

I haven’t used any annunciator lights other that what came with the GRT EFIS so can’t help you there.

Hi Marcus
I might do as you suggest. Do you have a pix of your lights? I still have time to decide.
Cheers

Les,
I looked but don’t have a picture yet.  I’ll get one the next time I get to the hangar, unfortunately it may be awhile.

I put my switches on the fixed bar below the panel.  To the right of the pitot heat switch I drilled 3 holes vertically to match the lights as they are mounted on the circuit board.  The lights just push though the panel from behind.  That’s about it, but I’ll try to get a picture anyway.
