All



I got so much encouraging info about Trio Avionic´s autopilot

and so I decided to go on it. I have it here and will install asap I

get plane home. Trio´s customer service has been so far outstanding,

all the data and instructions great and easy to follow and

even the packning was superb. 



The Gold Servo really looks golden...but happily not so heavy.

I have attached a copy of the Mod covering the Trio which is with the LAA.

I have been chasing Andy Draper to get it approved for some weeks.



I hope it may help.



I have a supply of the actuator arms being made if you have any problems

sourcing locally.

I have the Navaid wing-leveller which I am about to retrofit with the Trio

control head but retaining the Navaid servo, did you apply for general

modification approval or is it just your own personal application.



If you are interested, I have also bought the trio altitude hold.  I have

fitted the new gold servo and introduced an additional control horn.  I am

in the process of putting a mod leaflet together for the alt hold system.



I suspect from your comment, that the modification turnround by the LAA is a

lamentable as it was when their title was PFA.

I will know the cost of the arms in a week or so.



The Mod application covers the Navaid, TruTrack and Trio SINGLE AXIS (Roll)

only.  I started by doing the TruTrack but Andy asked me to do it as a

generic mod for all three.  This means that the old Navaid mod (10507) will

be replaced with this version.  The continued use of the Navaid Servo with a

new head (Trio) is (from memory) covered.  The mod also refers to (rather

than repeats) the LAA document "LAA Inspection Checks LA/IC-APWL".



I am aware of two owners waiting on the approval, one TruTrack and one Trio.

If anyone wants a copy of the draft Mod let me know.



As you say turnaround of Mods with the LAA can be very slow.  This is

particularly true if they are not holding up someone's permit to test.  I

have chased Andy again this week.

I too am hoping to install a Trio roll axis autopilot in my Europa G-ZTED this winter,  

I really appreciate a copy of the mod when you finally get it.   

Anyway could you advise me the mod number when it is released.
