I was given some of the above from a friend, and intend to apply it to
the underside of the wing trailing edge to protect the paint on the
flaps. My question is:
Just how sticky is the adhesive supposed to be? I've got and followed
the printed instruction from 3M on a 'wet' application, and applied a
10" test piece tonight and will check it in the morning, But to my mind
this stuff peels off too easily.
For those of you that have applied this, is this something that you
should be able to peel off without a lot of force, or is this something
that should stick like the foam double sided tape?

I have never applied it wet, but it should stick like foam tape does.

I'm assuming that when you say wet, you mean like how they apply things like window tinting where you spray a slightly soapy water to help position it. If that's the case I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a couple weeks for all the water to evaporate out allowing the adhesive to really grab.
I didn't sleep at a HI Express last night so that's just a SWAG.

Yeah, they recommend a solution of 75% water 25% Iso Prop Alcohol and 4
drops of detergent then squeege the water out and let set overnight.
I'll run the 'peel test' today.
