All-
I ordered a panel mount jack for my headphones and they sent a Y-cord style jack and barrel. Non returnable.
I'd like to pose some questions to one of our more qualified electrical people as to how to make lemonade out of lemons.
Please contact me off-list. Thanks.

Bill,
I put the jacks in a box behind the passenger side on the rear shelf.
This enables leaving it hooked up and only having
to put on the head set and go. The diagram I used for the A200 radio,
connection with the plugs and jacks are described
in the attached drawing link. (See bottom of the drawing)

My intercom is a Sigtronics A-400 and all works very well.
The wiring diagram shows color of wires and connections for mac push to
talk Y-stick to all other connections
I hope it's perhaps useful,

Who did you order from? If they sent you the wrong thing they really ought to replace it. But if they sent you helo jacks there really isn't a reason you can't use them and just use adapters on your headsets. Of course it might just be cheaper to take the hit and order what you want from a company that is legit.

Really though don't forget to tell us who you ordered from so no one else will make the mistake of ordering from them.

Since when won't ACS take a return? I've sent back stuff a number of times even after I opened it.

That said when I got my helo rating and my CFI said never by helo specific headsets unless you fly helos for a living.

Gig, and all-
1. I didn't know they were helo headsets until the package arrived. I'm
sure your CFI's advice had to do with the jack compatability issue.
2. I have absolutely no complaints dealing with ACS. Since this was a
special order (Non-stock item) there was a no-return statement which I
freely agreed to. Yes, I suppose I could insist on a return but I know I can
have the jacks working quicker than the time a return would take. It was
just as much my fault for not spotting the lack of a -PM suffix on the part
number when they e-mailed my order confirmation.
