Hi Bob,
The 87-octane in Illinois also has a mandated 10% ethanol and I use it
in my Stratus Subaru without any difficulty. If your floats, fuel
gaskets, O-rings and such that
are exposed to fuel are less than 5 years old, it's a good chance you'll
not have any trouble. The good thing is Ethanol refining operations in
Iowa and Illinois are
shutting down and declaring bankruptcy. Legislators are seeing the
error of their ways as it's not good policy and ethanol has the same
effect on people as does
asbestos. It's twice as bad on people as an old coal burning power
plant. When they ever get called down on it, EPA will kill it and
ethanol should disappear.
