I am abandoning my Zodiac project. I will give away a mostly unbuilt Zenair 601 tail kit to anyone who gives me $350 for my genuine Zenair 601 plans. Included are complete 601 HD/HDS and XL plans, an HD tail kit with XL structural upgrades, and some other stuff that I have accumulated while building. The tail kit was originally HD spec, and although Zenith will tell you "all 601 tails are the same" they are NOT. Many XL parts are thicker aluminum and the elevator control horn structure in the XL is a complete 360. I identified each of these parts and purchased the XL upgrades. If you want the HD-spec parts those are included as well. The rudder is finished, built at a Silver Sky Aviation workshop in Phoenix under the watchful eye of an experienced Zodiac builder and A&P mechanic. I started drilling out the main spar but did not get very far when life intervened and caused me to lose all my momentum and motivation to continue.
Now please not this is all for PICKUP ONLY in Oro Valley, AZ, a suburb of Tucson on the NW side of town (toward Phoenix). Anyone wishing to take this off my hands can also make me an offer on my almost new Kobalt (Lowe's) 8-gal air compressor, Zhipp air drill, and some other stuff I have lying around. The tail kit box is about 16 by 24 by 100 inches (just over 8 feet).
First to email me off list gets it all for $350. We can arrange pickup and payment most days but weekends are obviously best.
