Well we made it. We're in Sherman, TX.

Got here and courtesy car was already out for the night. Panic set in, people got grumpy, then John H turned on his charm. Former mayor of Sherman rode up on his bicycle. John H was able to volunteer to get him to ride home on his bike, get his van, and take us to eat.

Wait till ya'll get to NM.... how about 20G40 out of the SW and every day until, oh, probably mid June..... ;(

They might be a little late to the fly in if this is the case  I don't know if I could even taxi my Kolb in that kind of wind, not to mention flying ! Are you going Lucien ???

They might be a little late to the fly in if this is the case I don't know if I could even taxi my Kolb in that kind of wind, not to mention flying ! Are you going Lucien ???

Now it doesn't look like it, it'd be more of a survival exercise now than a fun relaxing trip. Have to be at office Mon. am or else, get-back-itis, fighting gale force winds and dust devils due to same.... nah, not my idea of fun
Dennis and I are going to try to make some local trips tho when we have time and weather. I"m now an 80mph airplane with the new powerfin (but a climb monster!) so I can fly a lot easier at Mark II/III speeds now.....

Hi everybody,
Just got back from my first trip to MV , 2874 miles by trailer. I flew
for almost 5 Hrs.while
i was there , met several of the people that use the kolb-list, and
learned quite a bit about
my airplane [a couple of things I had done wrong when I built it].
Also had several Firsts -
first time I ever operated from anything other than sea level- first
tailwind landing-first time
landing or tacking off up or downhill-also the first time I ever flew
where there was much
thermal activity.There were some very pretty airplanes .One poor guy
had about as much
bad luck as a person can have [ on his whole trip ] no one hurt. I"ll
let him , or someone
else write about that. All in all I had more fun than I"ve had in a
lot of years, much more
than a 68 year old should have. I felt like a kid again with new and
exciteing things to do.
I hope I can talk my wife into going next year.
