Her is my adoption of stolen ideas for elevator, rudder and aileron restraints. The pictures tell the story. I used a fabric strap for the rudder, styrene straps and 3/8" tubing covered with plastic tubing for elevator and ailerons. All the control surfaces are now solid when secured.
The last picture is my solution for a battery charging terminal. I bought a piper type exterior plug to install but decided against it after seeing how much it weight and how often I might need it. The terminal is mounted on the baggage bulkhead. If I have a dead battery, I will have to wait for the charge before I can start again and I can live with that.

Thanks for the suggestions. The rudder restrain seems to be pretty solid. Of course I will know with the first gust.

I have two #12 wires in my tool bag that I can connect to the banana jacks so that I can use a 12 amp charger from the FBO. Of corse, this just one way to skin the cat.

Pretty good solutions ..... I'd be worried about the strength of the rudder FG/running light, but it is an experimental.

You can get some pretty good currents through the banana jacks. I'd make an adapter so the line guy (or gal!) can plug into the banana jacks with his line cart ..... you already have the plug (I think) ..... the plug attaches to the external power source and plugs into the jack mounted to the airframe. You co0uld have plugged your trickle charger into the jacks instead of attaching them .... so you don't have to drag either the ground power adapter or the trickle charger around. My charging jacks will be mounted in the frame that the aft baggage bulkhead attaches to to make removal of the bulkhead easier. I like to use the polarized two pin molex connectors for this purpose.
