WOW! That's a lot of cash for a simple slide hammer. My guess is that
you could borrow one from your local body/fender guy or just buy a cheap
slide at your local auto paint supplier.

I made one, only cost a couple of £'s plus an hour or so. Works just fine.

I removed my gear box with a puller I fabricated with items I found around
my shop. Real simple, I will go find it and post a pic later.

Folks,

I remove my gearbox every 300 and send it to the local rotax service
center to have the clutch checked out.

I have always been able to remove it by tapping with a plastic mallet.
For me is has always come off quite easily with gentle tapping.

Paul

Ron,

Here's a slide hammer at bottom price:

You'd have to make up a tool to properly connect to the gear box, but I bet you are up to that task.

Although it still attached to the frame. It does not seem to have been

wonder
if anyone has any advice for how I might remove the support in order to
clean up and subsequently re-attach it? I am taking the opportunity to
clean
up the rest of the Landing gear frame too, which does not display any
other
issues.

I have attached the diagram and a photo to show what I am looking at,
although it is difficult to see the crack. Any advice would be gratefully
received.

All the Best

That's exactly what I did, Paul. Just commenting on the high-priced
slide hammer... Smile
