For some of you who have received the recent QB’s, have you figured out how to dimple the aft holes in the F-1019’s, 1020’s, and 1021’s (baggage floor ribs)? Plus their corresponding holes in the bottom skin?
The QB factory didn’t drill and dimple these aft holes according to the plans before riveting the ribs in place. Now we’ve got multiple layers of aluminum to dimple through.
I tried to dimple through all of it in one shot, but that didn’t work too well. The rivet heads still sit proud.
I also tried running a countersink inside two of the dimples, just to get the rivet head to sit flush and that appears to be the best solution.
The only other option I can think of is to simply countersink all of it (no dimple) and get the head to sit flush.
Anyone else come up with a creative way to solve the problem?

My ribs/skins were dimpled. But as I remember the fabrication shop put the skins in place for shipping with a few pop rivets. I just drilled them out and removed the skins. I feel that the kit has 3 deficiencies. One of them is the fact that you rivet down the rear skins and floors preventing future proper inspection. At the very least you should (as I did) install a inspection and maintenance plate over the boarding steps.
In any case after removing the floors, you should not have a problem dimpling. Contact me off line if you want pictures.

Mine were already dimpled, as well. Assuming you have the floor skin off, I would think you can dimple/countersink somehow. Remember that carpet will cover a lot of sins.
Before you close it up, make sure you have all the conduit you need from the battery area to the wings and cockpit.
As far as future inspections, the area under the floor is actually accessible through the aft lightening holes. Those fiber optic viewers are getting cheaper and better each year.

Thanks John...
Yes the skins are removed and the top of the ribs are dimpled. The
issue is the aft 6 holes on the bottom of the rib and their
cooresponding holes in the skins. Those are the ones that weren't
dimpled before they riveted the ribs in place.
I talked to Vans last night and they suggested countersinking the skins
as the first choice. Their second was to dimple best you can and then
chase it with a countersink.
