Hello again

these questions will probably find an answer with Deniss, but any help is very welcome.

1)I am looking for the "carburator diaphragm". Where can I find one or two and is it a part difficult to replace?

2)Do you know if it is possible to add a Tee for inflating both the main system and the emergency system? (I saw that in a 52)

3)Deniss I forgot to whom shall I ask for the prop seal kit??? could you please have the kindness to tell me who??

4)I have fluctuations in my gauges indications. It seems that it could come from the floatters. Do you know if it is possible ti find these foam floatters or to repair it or to find the gauges (picture are attached)

Thanks so much to all for any hints and tips.

Kind regards

Didier,
A couple of Answers. West London Aero Club has the diaphragms, air refill
adapter, and prop seal kits. The URL is http://www.wlacrussianeng.co.uk
As for your brake issues, is this occurring after hard braking or a long
taxi with frequent application of the brakes. If so you are experiencing
brake fade due to the drums/shoes heating up. You can also have a felt seal
on the wheel bearing leaking grease into the drum causing brake failure.
Glazed brake pads will cause weak braking also. Brakes pulling to one side
and being weak can mean grease on the shoes, glazed shoes, and leaking brake
line off the top of my head.

Didier,
Everything Doc says is of course accurate. However, I would add, based on you description of the problem, consider overhauling the brake reducing valve, since this is where application of the brakes starts after the mechanical pull of the brake handle. Regarding the carburetor diaphragm, WLAC does not have the diaphragms. Mark Jefferies does.

Doug Sapp has the prop seals as well as the brake reducing valve overhaul kit.

Beg to differ my friend, WLAC is where I got the diaphragm for the 50 that we (you) put in. They also list prop seals on their website. Not to distract from Doug and Sorry Doug I did not remember that you had the prop seals but I did know you had the brake reducing kits. But, I was not aware you had the entire replacement units. Sorry, my bad.
WLAC has the entire units for sell. http://www.wlacrussianeng.co.uk/main.asp?ID=1&Manu=&Start=200 at the bottom of the page.

Didiler,I have also just recalled that I had several diaphragms at Red Star last year and ended up bringing one back home with me.  Contact me off list if you need it.

Doug,
The carburetor diaphragm for the M14 is slightly different than the one on the Housai carburetor and are not interchangeable "out of the box". In the attached photo, the M14 carburetor diaphragm is on the left. I'm sure by using a proper size leather punch and overlaying the diaphragms, one could punch out the additional holes in the Chinese diaphragm and adapt it to the M14 carburetor.

Hello Didier,
in the West London Aero Club inventory the diaphragm is still listed, I had one from them one or two years ago. The exchange rate from Pounds to Euro is great and you may save a lot for shipping from UK if they still have the part on stock, of course.
best regards
Vic

Vic,

sounds interesting. I definitely will try to change the foam and clean the sensor before changing all the parts.
And I runned the check you are describing (moving the float outside the tank) and the sensor seems to works just fine.

thanks very much for your input

kind regards

Didier

Fellow yak listers on the subject of spare parts I have a fraud alert that I would like to bring to everyone's attention C if you put a post on the yak list and receive a response from a person named Griff Moore from the United Kingdom saying that he has the parts you need and to send him a deposit to pay for shipping don't C after you send him the money he hits you up for another deposit saying he miscalculated the amount needed and can't ship them and when you ask for a refund he dissappears C just thought I would give everyone the heads-up C Todd.

Also look out for this person I found out from other forums he is also running a scam out of the UK. He says he has what you want ( in pristine condition) and then he wants far too much for it. And he want you to wire the money to him. When pressed to show a picture of the item he claims that the email gets kicked back...but he can send you emails saying they get kicked back. Go figure....
