Fellow Europaphiles,

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but I do want to share the
news, so I'll just spit it out. "Baby Blue" (N55XS) has been named Best
Non-Certified Engine Homebuilt at Sun-N-Fun. Results was just posted at
http://www.sun-n-fun.org/content/interior.asp?section=flyin&body=05flyin/2005awards
Mary and I couldn't be more thrilled.

On another note, response at the Europa tent was very good. Lots of
interest and I believe John and Andy were surprised at the interest they
generated. I look for good things to start happening in the US.

Jeff-

That's wonderful news! I got there late and couldn't see your plane, but I'm glad you have set the standard.

Yes, Andy and Co seemed to really enjoy it. We were able to spend some time with them and are glad they decided to come. I am sure we haven't seen the last of them. Congrats again!

Hey, that's not bragging!

Well done and warmest congratulations. Having seen the standard of
previous award winners at Sun-n-Fun your engine installation must be
quite special.

Regards

Tony

Actually, it wasn't the installation. "Non-Certified Engine" was the
catagory the plane was judged in... Smile

Kudos to you. Any photos we can see? How long did this meticulous build take? Great feeling to see one of our own recognized. Congratulations indeed... what an achievement!

Great News Jeff!

Fanfare!

For those of you that have not seen Baby Blue I will tell you that it is one
of the finest examples of the breed to be found anywhere.
Jeff had expected some acknowledgment for his work. The judges kept
scrutinizing the craft over and over asking the right questions.

Photos of Baby Blue < and other SnF photos> will appear soon in my build area
of the Europa Owners Site.

Again Congratulations to Jeff and his lovely wife. Well done!

Thanks Paul and others. The judges took one picture, which is not seen
at the site. Those I took are mostly around the campsite, though I will
be posting some on my build site at Http://www.n55xs.com Probably won't
be for a few days, though. There is a teaser that was taken at Cedar
Key, where Mary and I stopped for the night, though I admit that it was
only for the effect of the sunset and one other of the plane sitting on
the ramp at our chapter airport. You can see them here.

Hey Jeff,
I just got home and read your post. WOW! Thats great and you do deserve
it. I hope to join in next year with the big Florida show. I only have
about 10 hours but time is really short right now.
The plane at 5500 feet yesterday was running at 125 KTS at 5000 RPMs on
the warp drive at 21 degrees. All the faring made a good 10 KTS
difference. Looking forward to seeing Baby blue beside Gold Rush this
summer some where.
As you might remember there is not sexier airplane on the ramp than the
Europa!
Best Regards,
Jeff

Hey Jos.
Thanks for the place to upload those photos.
My conversations with Andy were about the new accessories that are now
available.

Complete interior kits are now available. Leather or leather / vinyl
combinations come in Gray and Tan colors

New panel cut outs to fit the new and larger Dynon display.

Well done Jeff - good to see the brand keeping up the standards.
Finally arrived home today after S'n'F to a cold a wet England - boy do I
wish I was back in the sunshine.
Thank you to you and all the Americans and others that made the 'Europa'
party so welcome.
Now to get on with finishing my aircraft and here is to next year. For all
those reading this it will be 17th to 23rd April (after Easter in 2007).
