I noticed recently that the braided lines going to my oil cooler were very close to one of the pushrod tubes on the rearmost cylinder. I made a note to check that next time the bottom cowl was off, and in doing so yesterday I was shocked to see that they had clearly been vibrating against the tube.
The wear was not only visible, but could easily be felt with my fingers. I don't know the thickness of those tubes, but I'd estimate the worn depression was a few thousandths deep.
The lines are now secured from vibration. I know each plane is different, but since these lines are routed similarly on all the planes it's worth making a note and checking next time you have access to the engine.
