Nope...nothing gained if you're taking the tanks off anyway. Just makes
easier access if you removed the plates with the tanks on.

Rick in Ohio at the Buffalo Farm - you SERV guys are cool cats.....I guess
that makes James a tiger :
).

I'm planning to yank the tanks to do the mod, only because they've been off
before, and I'm not trying to protect a paint job; I like "room to work" when
I can get it. In that case, will I gain anything by ordering hex head
screws for the job? Never had an issue with Phillips head last time I was in
there working on a fuel sender...

I plan to replace my flop tube with a regular pickup while I'm at it. Never
used a negative-G fuel setup in my flying and never will; I see it as a
liability I put in there more fore resale than anything. That was long ago and
I'm wiser now.

Cappy's Toy now has the SB completed on both tanks. The second tank was
much easier than the first. Only about 4 hours this time and yes the nut
was tight. I guess experience counts.

Mike Munn and Cappy will be doing the SB for Mike's RV-8 this Saturday from
8:30 AM till completed.

Anyone interested in seeing first hand how to do the SB or just wanting to
commiserate please stop by. We will be at KJQF in the north side of the
north row of T hangars just south of the new big Hyndrix hangar.

We will have transportation for lunch if desired.

You had the QB tanks, right?

I might stop by to help...not sure what the to-do list is looking like for
the weekend.

Is there a requirement for a 100 hour inspection of our Experimental A/C?

Only periodic requirement is a "Conditional" inspection for Homebuilts,
Annual inspections are for the certified birds. I believe 100 hours are only
required on those certified birds which are used commercially (such as
rentals).

Tad,

Ed is correct, the 100 hour inspection is only for aircraft used for
commercial operations.

Please don't tell me you already have 100 hours on your RV!?

Great! We will start at 8:00 AM. I'm planning on leaving to take Mike and his motorcycle to the Harley shop at 9:00 when they open. Should be back no later than 10:00.

If you are finished with the buffer bring it. If not I will wait till you are done with it. I use it on the cars. No hurry though.

See you tomorrow.
