The battery was DEAD. I had in fact turned off the Master switch, but it
was dead. There wasn't even enough power to make the light in the
baggage compartment glow.
Last Wednesday it was fine. I updated the data bases and the battery
voltage was 23 V.
Is anything other than the baggage compartment light connected directly
to the battery? The airplane is a 1979 Shrike.
Kindest regards,
Bill

Over the years, and 15,000 hours I have learned a couple of "pearls of wis
dom" I share with pilots. One is "If you never turn your strobe lights of
f, you will never leave your master switch on" Yes, the light is con
nected directly to the battery and will run it down if the switch fails :-
(. Happy new Year!!

Would the wire cause the master relay to close and that drain the battery or would it short to ground and drain the battery through the short?
Kindest regards,
Bill

I'm not sure C but in my case I think it caused the relay to close. However CI am not absolutly sure of that.
