Two years ago I started having seizures on a daily basis. I had hoped they would go away but it's not going to happen. This is an increasing problem from injuries received in Vietnam to my brain and spine. I am thankful I was able to fly for 40 years. I am telling you this so you will know why I am selling 8WN and other kits & planes I have (Velocity XL-5 300 hp, and an Ercoupe).
The Lightning 8WN (SN 26) is registered under Light Sport rules, 1320 pounds, since I knew I might not pass a medical. 8WN has 4.5 hours. For the past 2 years since it has not been flown, I just spend time working on the plane. It now has 30 gallon tanks, new canopy locking system, and lots of other changes. Greg Hobbs can fly the time off if you like. The aircraft is loaded with top of the line avionics, auto pilot, traffic warning, etc.
For fast sell I set the price at $87,000, about the price of a basic with built assist. This plane draws a big crowd but it is an easy repaint if you have other taste. The aircraft had minor damage during a landing I made while having a seizure. The damage was classified by FAA as an incident, not an accident. I have pictures of the damage and everything was replaced/repaired by the book and more. Signed off by A&P (me).
