Earl is right, the capabilities of the Lightning would allow someone with foresight, planning, and determination (like Earl) to set another World Record for the Lightning. And you wouldn't even need to go for his exact record - just pick any two cities that don't have a current speed record between them in the category that the Lightning is in, and go for it. I am sure Earl would be more than willing to add his expertise to the effort to get you started, explain the required steps, and help with specific details. Surely someone out there flying a Lightning would like to have their name in the World Record Book - like World Record Earl.

Earl will be signing autographs at Sun N Fun - free of charge.
Blue Skies,
Buz

Here's a record....on a recent trip to Bartow, Fl from St Pete Intl (about 50 miles) I was handed off to 7 different controllers; would have been 8, but ground control at Bartow was down; so I taxied via the tower...Lots of fun flying through class B airspace...oh same thing on the return trip....hey I get alot pf practice and at least I'm not afraid to talk to the "Big Guys"...

How many controllers to get you to Sun N Fun? That is the question. Hope you are planning on bringing your jet.
