If the weather cooperates, next Saturday morning I will be waking up in my tent at the Lakeland Airport. Yes, my current plan is to fly down to Florida for Sun N Fun next Friday, the 9th of April, which will give me some time to help with some set up volunteer efforts.
Official start date for Sun N Fun is Tuesday, 13 April, so you still have plenty of time to arrange your schedule so that you can fly there in your Lightning. Last year, other that the factory and dealer Lightnings, World Record Earl was the only Lightning owner to fly to Sun N Fun. In fact, we had more Esquals in the fly-in parking area than Lightnings (2 Esquals, 1 Lightning). Surely this year will be different. In fact, here is a challenge; if World Record Earl and I can do it (at our advanced age) why not you? It would be great to have a row of Lightnings parked together. The key to that is getting there early enough so that the parkers have time to take you to a specific row. If you arrive at a busy arrival time, getting to a specific row will be more difficult. I can save some parking spaces if I know when you will arrive, but the earlier the easier. So if you know when you will be arriving, I'll be there looking for you - like I did for Earl last year. My cell phone number is: 757-879-5845.
And as long as we are talking about Sun N Fun, mark your schedule so that you can attend Nick's briefings in the forums area. Nick will be giving two forums this year - one on opening day (13 April at 1300 in forums then #11) and another on Friday (16 April at 1300, forums tent #11). Additionally, the annual Lightning get together at the Lightning booth will be Friday, the 16th at 1100. I am assuming that the Lightning booth will be at the same area as the last few years. Nick or Mark, please confirm this for us, and anything else we need to know as far as supporting your efforts.

We are in the same spot as always. Down behind the FAA building. We will have our get together at 11 and than I have got a forum at 12 so come on to that and fill the tent so I don’t have to talk to myself…or mark cause he get to run the power point thingy.

All,
I just went to the Sun N Fun web site and checked the forums schedule. The two Lightning forums are scheduled for 1300 (not 1200) on both opening day (Tuesday, 13 April) and Friday, 16 April. Nick is a busy guy, so maybe that is why he thought the forum time was noon. Either that or he has had too much fun drinking Tennessee's finest. But do plan to attend both forums and cheer loudly when either Nick or Mark says absolutely anything. If we get their egos built up by cheering them on, maybe they will share some of that Tennessee white lightning. Or maybe Max will bring some Florida white lightning. Either way, get happy and have fun.

I plan to be there, but haven't got a firm schedule yet. Will definitely be there for the Forum on Friday. Hope there will be room for a tent in the enclave. Hope we will have a bunch of Lightnings this time.
