Wow! That sounds scary, Lynn! I am glad your Jabiru dealer is sending
you an new muffler set.
When I installed my Jabiru, I noticed the contrast between the well
finished, precision tooled engine and the rather ... so-and-so muffler.
In my case, the welding is holding but I had to shorten two of the
retaining springs because their attaching points were at different
placement. It doesn't look like a professional job.
Is your muffler hanging freely or is it touching something like the
cowling? Could such a thing have created a harmonic in the vibrations
that started the crack? Just wondering, I don't know much about that
stuff.
