About 6 months ago, I bought a set of wing fairings from Raven Aviation. I finally got around to installing them and this is what I found for my airplane.
No fairings installed:
Temp 60
5000 rpm Rotax 912S
86 mph
Altitude - 2000'
Rear fairings only installed:
Temp 60
5000 rpm
88 mph
Altitude - 2000'
Front and rear fairings installed:
Temp 80
5000 rpm
90 mph
Altitude - 2000
Because of the recent heat wave here (Central Valley California), I could not test at the same temperature as the two previous flights. I believe I will see a 1mph increase to about 91 mph when the temperature drops back to 60 degrees at 2000'.
