Finally got one wing ready to paint. Here are some pictures that show the tip shape.

Looks good.
How much longer is the TE tube and aileron than stock Kolb plans call for?
Is LE the stock length?
I'll be very interested in hearing your flight report when you are all finished.

All is stock, I just changed the tip bow shape, and added an aluminum angled section to the outboard end of the aileron to contain the nav light and strobe. So total square footage of the wing will be down a couple feet, due to the loss at the front part of the wing where the original tip bow went straight out a bit before it curved back.

Hi Richard,
Just wondering what gain you expect from that tip. I assume it reduces wing tip drag in some way?

Check the archives, tip shape has been discussed on several occasions - theoretically there should be a small improvement. And if not, it still is easy to build, won't hurt anything, and gives a way to gracefully mod the aileron tips for nav & anti collision lights.
