Gang,
Thought you might find this interesting...I sure did.

Hi Barry,
Just dropping a line with a PIREP on your ignition wire set. I installed them while we were grounded for air races and since that time I've flown the aircraft on 2 cross country flights, lot's of local and on a 5 hour search mission in the mountains.
The engine used to be a hard start when cold, now starts on 3 -4 blades and very little air. The engine is running smoother and I've noticed that on cross country flying I'm able to lean more than before.
I use fuel flow to set up cruise and I can lean back another gallon /hour without getting the cylinders hot. Performing mag checks in flight there is no noticeable difference as one mag is switched off/on.
I wouldn't have expected this much difference as my engine was running pretty smooth before, but needless to say ...I'm a happy camper.
Thanks,
Walt Murphy

Thanks, Walt! And if you prime it just right and put it on the compression stroke, it goes even better...

Happy Flying (and starting!)
