Hello,

Have a 912 UL w/ a seep at the Lower right oil pump cover corner, seen when facing the pump. 740 hour engine, owner previous changed the O-Rings 57-3 from the Oil Pump and Filter drawing 200 hours and 3 years ago, I think it has been a constant issue.

Suggestions? Checked the basics, ie, cleaned, ran up, confirmed source is actually that corner not some wind-blown other source.

Seeps enough to just see it static, and makes a bit of a mess running- just about 1 oz per hour of loss- the mess matches that amount. What forms the seal for the oil pump housing? I don't see a loctite/sealant called out in the area other than 221,violet, but not right at the pump cover area.

Thanks!

Howdy Moose, (couldn't resist)

If your sure it is coming from that "O" ring area. I would replace both "O" rings. Part #430405 57X3 and or 430175 46X3 and use a little Loctite 5910 sealer on them or which ever one you replace. Make sure the mating surface area around the "O" ring is good and clean. The 5910 should take care of your problem.
