Stormy:
I pulled the cylinders for several reasons ... but mostly because I did not
break the engine in correctly the first time around ... we had carb problems
that we could not find ... three mechanics later we found the brand carb had
some internal mfg defects ... but by then we had run the engine on the ground
probably 5 hours ... not good for setting rings !! When rings don't set you
use a lot (LOT) of oil and lots of blow by on the belly ... I was sick
(SICK) of that !!
Also ... felt like I was losing power over time and that was a real concern
that something else might be going on. Triad in Burlington rehoned them ...
installed new rings, etc ... flew the first hour last night ... all was good
!!!
Flew this morning and leaving for Florida early tomorrow morning !!

how it's working now.

BTW, that IO-340 Stroker engine from Titan looked way cool at SnF, but it's
100LL only. Not sure I could talk myself into that investment, with the
certainty that 100LL will disappear one day not far off... but for the HP vs.
weight and price it was a tempting package.

I knew that, but figured everyone else had not heard the story. Have a nice trip!
I'm about ready to tackle relining and bleeding brakes, and the fuel tank SB. Then it's on to getting the place spruced up for June 24th...
