G-DDBD took to the air for the first time at Blackbushe today, in the =
very
capable hands of Pete Jeffers.
=20
It flew well, requiring no major adjustments so far. One or two minor =
bits
to adjust, but nothing too significant.- What a relief!!
=20
Testing abandoned after about 1.5 hours when the cross wind got =93a bit
sporting=94 to quote Pete.
=20
Looking back over the last five years of building I am very conscious of =
the
many ideas I have incorporated from this forum, the Europa Club and many
other people only too willing to share their experience with a first =
time
builder. I am particularly thankful to my inspector, Ron Speer, and to =
Andy
and his team at Europa and to my wife Donna for their help when things =
got
tough. There was always a solution to every problem.=20
=20
I have just got home from the airfield and looked in the mirror and =
spotted
early stages of =93Europa Grin=94. I can=92t wait to fly it!
=20
For the record-
=20
Europa XS Mono, Rotax 912S, Airmaster VP,=20
Build time 1800 hrs
Weight 865lbs (heavy leather interior)
