So, I'm watching an online auction on a Bendix S6LN-50 magneto that's supposed to go on the GO-435-C2 that I have. But when I look up that engine, it says it should have an S6LN-20 magneto. Is this simply an older designation and can I buy it, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Best,
Adam

Bummer! I sure wish I still had all the notes from my 520 days. There
is a trick here and I'm trying to remember the details. The orig. mag
is pretty much non-existent as I recall, but you can take the impulse
coupler or drive dog off and install it on a slightly different model
(which gets the shaft length right and is readily available) and it
works perfectly. Ring a bell with anyone??? Morris? Check the TCDS
between a -C2 and a -C2B2. Maybe that's where I figured that out. Not
sure who ended up with the bones of 4186B after it's untimely demise,
but the answer would be easy to determine by looking at the mags.
