Guys, I have notice oil leaking from the rocker arms bolt & nuts. I have found that the nuts are only just snugged up & then cotter pinned. I know that there is a crush washer under them that is suppose to seal up the joint. I am wondering how much tighter to make them to seal. Any suggestion would be helpful. Hard to come up with a torque value as they are castle nuts & have to line up with the holes in the bolt for the cotter pin. Thanks.

On my M-14P I recently switched from crush washers to a high-grade red silicone o-ring, about 70 durometer hardness. 13.5mm OD x 10mm ID, if I recall the size. So far so good. Crush washers only seem to last for a while, you can re-tighten, maybe once and that's it.

Paul,
Purchase some crush washers from Doug or Jill or Cliff and replace them
on both sides of the rocker arm bolt. Once you snug them up after
replacing them, the oil leaks will stop.
I would suggest you make sure the piston is at TDC on the compression
stroke before you push the bolt out. Use a similar size bolt and push
it through the rocker arm, threaded end to threaded end, so you can
replace the the crush washer under the head of the bolt.

Talk to Craig Payne. He has been adding a ? Teflon washer under the existing crush washer then tightening them down.

Guys,When we checked we found that the stock rocker crush seal was a bit thin to do the job, and in time would start to leak. We had some built which are .003 thicker than stock. They seem to be working great, have plenty in stock.
