Just as a reminder to everyone Sun N Fun is rapidly approaching.   The official start date is Tuesday, 29 March.  Weather permitting, I  plan to arrive on Monday, 28 March, in my 1940 Piper J3 Cub Sport, as part  of the Cub Convoy.  This is the 75 th Anniversary of the original  Cub Convoy in 1936 and I will be leading a flight of Cubs from Virginia.   Our mass arrival into Lakeland is scheduled for just after 1 PM on Monday.   

  

 But to get to the important Lightning stuff, I just wanted  to remind everyone that once again there will be two Lightning Forums this  year.  The first one will be on Wednesday, 30 March at 0900, and  the second will be on Friday, 1 April, also at 0900.  Apparently there  is a new building in the forums area this year, so instead of the forums being  in tents, they will be in the new Central Florida Aerospace Academy building  which is across from the Florida Air Museum.  Apparently there are eleven  classrooms, and the Lightning forums will be in room 11.

  

 Also on Friday will be the annual Lightning get together at the Lightning  booth at noon - 1200.  This annual informal meeting is for everyone that is  interested in the Lightning - builders, flyers, and anyone else that just wants  to meet other Lightning enthusiast and the Lightning home team and  dealers.  So come on by and enjoy the very friendly Lightning group and say  hello to Father Nick - no, he has not become a Priest, he is a daddy!  As  in the past, there will be free roasted corn on the cob and drinks.   Heck, there might even be a fashion and dance show by the Brazilian ladies  like we had last year.

Well, I'd like to be there, but I had a shoulder operation (rotator cuff  problem) and haven't healed enough to get in the airplane yet. Probably won't be  able attend unless I can bum a ride down. Ah well, maybe that will be my excuse  to go to Oshkosh this year.

Hey Bernardo, work really hard and you will be flying your Lightning to  OSH.  It is starting to sound like we will have a good turn out of the  Lightning community at Oshkosh this summer.  After some 20 years of  volunteering in the Vintage area, I have decided to hang up my volunteer hat,  and to spend most of my time with the guys in the Lightning and Jabiru  booth.  I am looking forward to spend lots of time with everyone.

Hi Paul,

     I'm going to info Nick and Mark on this email to  you.  They have the POH for the experimental lightning on file  (or  CD) and have probably kept theirs up to date.  I have not kept my file  updated since I originally worked on it and gave them the file.

     Good luck on your test flying.  I know  you will have fun.
