Talked to someone at the dealer where I got my new ELT and they were verifying if I still wanted my ELT because it was shipping. It may have shipped Friday, I'm not sure, but it sounded like they had already received them and were sending them right out the door. I'll post when I receive it....and probably a write up as soon as it's installed which won't be far behind.

Today I got my new Ack E-04 406mhz ELT. I haven't done any
of the install yet, but it looks like it'll be a breeze.
I have to buy a 4-pin RJ-11 coupler I think, because if I
remember right, my current phone-wire type ELT control cable
is male on both ends, and the ACK uses a M/F type. So
unless I wanted to run a whole new cable, I'll have to use
a coupler to join them. It appears that everything will just
plug in though and work. I have GPS in the tailcone
already for my APRS, so I plan to use that GPS for now
to feed the ELT. The only downside is that my APRS GPS
doesn't include altitude, only lat/long and the other variables,
but I'd assume if you know my exact Lat/Long, you can still
find me within about the distance I can jump.
I was greatly surprised to see that at least from memory,
it seems much smaller and lighter than my AmeriKing that's
in there currently.
I hope to install it this weekend, and if I do, I'll take some
comparison photos. Neat stuff!

I ordered mine from Dallas Avionics. I ordered it a long time
ago, so I was #8 on their list. I know that they're
shipping them to all vendors in bunches as fast as they
can get them out, so, your particular dealer might get 10 or 20
or 30, but they may not immediately get all to fill all backorders.
But, it shouldn't be long. It's nice to see that they're
arriving though.
