I went flying today and my voltmeter, which usually reads a steady 14 volts, jumped to 16 volts. It wavered back and forth for a bit and then steadied at 14 volts. Then it did it again later, and then again. I have not noticed this happening before. Any opinions? Thanks.

I could be a couple of items.
Bad ground, bad wire at the reg/rec, bad connection on the battery.
