I can't seem to find the differential pressure figure that I want to check on the 912ULS. If its in the heavy duty maintenance manual I didn't see it.

What xx/80 should I expect if all is well?

thanks for the help

Hi John,

Your maint items can be found in the "Line Maint" manual. You can use 80-87 psi test pressure as per Rotax. I'm old school Rotax so I still use 87, but regular A&P's use 80. A normal drop in pressure is 2-4 psi.

JohnF,

The minimum acceptable differential compression test result is 75% of applied pressure. If applying 80 psi, then 60 is the minimum. If applying 87 psi the minimum would be 65.25.

I apply 87 psi on Rotax 912 engines because that is what the book calls for, or at least it used to. Don't know if that has changed since I last read it. On every other engine, I use 80 psi because that is what I was taught in A&P school 40 years ago.

Hi Thom,

The older version of the Rotax manual did only state 87 test pressure, but the newer version allows for use of 80-87.
John,

A 2-4 drop in pressure would be normal.
