Shell Lite Sport 4 Stroke oil has some added ability to hold lead in
suspension in the oil, similar in that regard to conventional ashless
dispersant oil used in our Lycoming and Continental aircraft engines.
However Shell's Lite Sport 4 Stroke oil also has heavy metals that improve
lubricity in the gear box of our Rotax 912 series engines. Rotax 912S and
914 owners who use 100LL are fortunate to have this specially formulated
oil available to us. However, the heavy metals can cause hot spot deposits
and detonation in Continentals and Lycomings so it is NOT suitable for use
 in those engines.
Per Shell representative at the Sebring Lite Sport Expo earlier this year.

If you can stay away from 100LL you are way ahead of the game. You need to
use 91 oct and nothing lower, higher is ok. The engine does not care about
the ethanol, but make sure your fuel tanks are compatible. If you use 91
oct then you can use a full synthetic or a semi synthetic oil. If you use
100LL then only a semi synthetic. The lead will fall out of suspension if
you use a full synthetic with 100LL. If you use 100LL then absolutely use
a lead scavenger like Decalin which can be purchased from Aircraft Spruce.
Even then you will getting leading and have more and earlier maint. If you
use 100LL oil and filter changes at 25 hrs. If you use 91 Oct. then up to
100 hrs. many of us change oil at 50 hrs even with 91 oct.
