Here is an unusual question.....

Can anyone make a rough guess of how many YAK-50's and YAK-52's there
are flying now in the United States?

After you make a good guess on that one... what about the rest of the
world?

There was once a EU website that tracked how many YAKs were world wide. Do not remember the website since the computer that had that info is TU now.

The FAA has a list ...

Doc this is the EU web site you mentioned (I think) http://www.yak-census.com/yak-52_census.htm my Yak is there but the contact info is about 10 years old.

From Canada:
Only 4 x Yak 52 but an impressive 24 x CJ6A.
What is quite interesting is that approximately 85% of the CJs are located in or near Vancouver BC, the typical point of import.

Thanks that is the one i vaguely remembered. The FAA is pretty well clueless. It can't pull up a summary when data is inputted as make/model. I got no data available for that search quoted with each of my searches.
