Hi All-



This is not directly RV related so plz delete right now if so inclined, and

do not archive.



I'm going to be stuck in Vegas for a few days next week.  Neither my

partner nor I are interested in the typical Vegas attractions.  Any

suggestions for entertainment for a couple of aviation geeks?

The predator flies out of Indian Hills,about 40 miles north.

McCarren Airport.  I did my first long cross-country from Oakland to there,

in a C-152.  I wound up parked next to a Nigerean Herc, as I recall, and my

view to the tower was blocked by a 747.  Their progressive taxi instructions

to me on departure started "Taxi forward until we can see you..."  As I went

to the ramp to arrange for service (I had lost my vacuum pump about 10 miles

out), a NASA T-28 taxied up and the two pilots leapt out, giving

instructions to "refuel and park it, please"; leaving a novice pilot (me)

starry-eyed that they could use the FBO as a valet and the T-28 for a

weekend commute to Vegas. There's always something interesting there, in all

sizes and shapes.



While I, too, am not interested in the shows or gambling, I do like to visit

some of the theme stores and casinos.  The NASCAR attraction is interesting,

and I like to spend a little time at Margaritaville and the Harley-Davidson

caf.  These are my preferences; what I'm really suggesting is that you

stroll the row and see what catches your eye.  The Venetian is an example of

a place that has more than the usual casino fare; there's shops and

restaurants.



You might also want to take the tour flights.  Anyway, good luck and have a

good time.

That's Indian Springs air field, not Indian Hills. 



I saw Blue Man Group in Vegas. I've attended many concerts, shows plays and etc. in my life, all over the world but I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS ACT. It will blow your mind!



It is clean, family fun. Well, it's not actually clean except that there's no vulgarity or not-ready-for-prime-time language. Lots of paint flying around but they don't get it on the audience.
