Guys, I have installed an electric fuel boost pump to replace the wobble pump in my CJ6. It is a 3-5 psi, 32 gpm flow thru pump that will allow fuel to pass even if it is not running. I removed the wobble pump & the lines to the check valve & mounted the pump inside the belly with lines to the check valve the same as the wobble pump lines. I have fuel flowing on the pressure side of the pump, but there is no fuel flowing into the fuel pump on the engine. I think the pump is just forcing the fuel thru the small by pass lines on the check valve & back into the pump. I am planning to plug the small by pass lines, so that the fuel will be pumped up to the engine. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

Make sure you have in / out lines hooked up properly.

Typo error in original message. Should be 32 GPH instead of GPM.

If it is a vane type pump you must ensure that the relief & by-pass assembly is correctly mounted in relation to the direction of rotation.
Unless the ENGINE driven pump is an internal by-pass type the new auxiliary pump will NOT deliver fuel through a static engine pump.
It SHOULD be a py-pass type pump since the emergency fuel from the wobble pump is delivered in series. If non bypass it would have to be a parallel system.
The by-pass around the check valve is necessary I would not recommend plugging it.

Walt, I disconnected the fuel hose to the engine pump & there is no fuel reaching that point when I turn on the boost pump. The fuel line from the boost pump to the engine side of the check valve is pumping fuel, but how can it pump up to the engine with the by pass line installed. What is the purpose of the by pass line even with the standard wobble pump?
