Dave Goldman is here (for those of you who know Dave Goldman) doing his annual. He was looking at the Project X plane and asked what "this hose" was for, plugged into the #3 cylinder. I told him it was for the JPI 800 to read Manifold Absolute Pressure.
He told me that he had just read a thread on gg about the manifold pressure and said Dave Fletcher said to put it on #4 cylinder. When we got home last night, he logged onto his account and we brought up the gg. What can I say? Putting the tap into the #4 cylinder, the way Fletcher shows it, will make working on the #4 plug even more difficult than it already is.
I would also caution against doing it like I did on my Tiger. In the pic, the aluminum tube attaches to the baffle above the cylinder tap. It works better if you move the attachment to the area just outboard of the engine mount. Why? Because the hose from the baffle to the firewall, when mounted as I did, makes putting oil in the filler neck a little more challenging.
