Ponderosa Aviation in Stafford is a customer of mine. Russell and Mike Hardy. They fly 500S for the forest service during fire season.
Good operation, been flying Twin Commanders for a long time.
Something went very wrong.

Flying Magazine columnist Stephen Pope write about the accident and even posted a bit too realistic video of the accident.

At least it seems nothing went wrong mechanically with the 690A; it was apparently more of a problem readjusting to new Class B regulations around Phoenix.
