Gang,
I want to thank everyone who offered help rebuilding my Mongoose or offered their aircraft for sale to replace it. I ended up buying a very nice Nanchang from a couple of gentlemen I had trained a number of years ago. Their Nanchang is very nice and has many features like mine, and was only 50 miles away. Too convenient to pass up.
In the meantime, I have made the decision to rebuild Mongoose. It only has 747 hours on it since new. It would truly be a waste to discard it. Doug Sapp has been extremely helpful and has most of what I need. However, he does not have a new or undamaged horizontal stabilizer. I also would like to find an undamaged rear fuselage to graft onto Mongoose. The minimum need is the last three or four feet where the skins overlap just forward of the tail surfaces. I am sure these parts are available somewhere or salvagable from a wreck.
Again, I thank everyone for their help. If these two items can be found I would be most interested in talking to the owner. I have a fresh M-14P to mount. All I need is the rebuilt tail to put Mongoose back in the air.
Happy New Year to all and thank you in advance for everyone's support.
Cheers
Richard Hess
