This month’s twist will be a spot landing upon arrival. You can do up to three landings for scoring. For those who are based at RUQ we will have a pilot briefing at 10:15, then go out to shoot your landings. For those arriving and wish to participate, on downwind announce your arrival that you plan to participate in the spot landing contest. A referee on the ground will give you a special call sign for the contest. Then when you are on short final for each landing please announce that number so you can be scored. A free lunch and other prizes will go to the winner. The beginning of the large runway marking before the first taxiway is the target area. A target sign will be set up on the left side of the landing runway to indicate the target point. A picture will be attached to this e-mail . Remember Safety First.
The very open rules are:
1. The closest final touchdown past the strip wins the " 1st Prize" and up to three landings will be judged. In case of ties style points will be awarded.
2. You can reduce power at any time, but once you make a reduction, any adding of power will disqualify that landing only. (engine clearing is okay)
3. A landing bounced before or touching down before the strip disqualifies that landing only from scoring. The final full touchdown will be your scored.
Starting next month we will have a focus group for each event. Examples -- RV’s, Short Wing Pipers, Cubs, Vintage Cessna’s, Ect. Each PIC from that group will get a free lunch for that visit.
Thank-You for your continued support of EAA Chapter 1083
