Start by kicking Garmin in the groin. Software that won't allow a
battery to charge... GRRR..

I have only used my 695 a dozen or times over the last 2 years and not at all in the last 6 months, in preparation for an Easter trip, plugged it into the charger and it won't charge. The unit says battery not connected.
Emailed Garmin support and they said I need to replace it as there is "software" in the battery pack that won't communicate if allowed to discharge?
I would think the Nickel-Metal Hydride cells would still be ok?
Anybody know anyone who can recondition these packs?
