Hello, folksMy aluminum stack is finally starting to resemble an aircraft (if you have a lot of imagination, that is): http://www.zenith.aero/photo/img-6058When I put the front side skins in place (just to have an idea of what it would look like), I noticed the interference between the side skins, heel support and floor (the rolled end of the floor). The attached pics show the offending area. The instructions simply say "trim as required" (or something like that). To me, it seems I'll have to remove a semi-circle one or two inches in diameter - as I haven't seen any comments about this, I am a little concerned. I also have looked at a few of the CH601 sites still on-line, but I did not find any picture or comment that would clarify this. Thanks in advance for your comments / suggestions CarlosCH601-HD, plans

 HI Carlos,
I remember the area you speak of and I’d be cautious of trimming until you have the front side piece on.
The bottom rolled edge is the hard part to get in place, so it may require on and off while rolling the material
around a tapering radius a bit. I used a piece of pipe and hand rolled it carefully to get it right.
Before doing that, I’d recommend you cut a piece that you can make a sample radius to get a fit and then
do the same to the piece. My progress here slowed a bit until it was right. See link and large assembly2 page
 for pictures around this area.

Larry, thanks for the suggestion and the link to the photo.(I spend quite a bit of time viewing your web site - thanks for keeping it.)

I just got a reply from Caleb:
"I see what it going on now. You will probably have to trim a little on the cabin floor sides and the side skins to get it to clear the leading edge. Now that I see what the problem is, I wouldn't trim the leading edge at all. You will need to make a small cutout out in the side skin that the leading edge will slip into. You will probably also need to make a small cutout in the cabin floor to give clearance for the side skin. I wouldn't worry too much about trimming either part."

Interesting that this problem did not happen before... (judging from Caleb's difficulty in understanding it)

 Regards
 Carlos
