Any one out there know the where abouts of a Rotax 912 SMD electronic module, part# 965-358 (old style).
None of the big Rotax suppliers in the U.S. or Canada have one in stock, and the backorder wait is 30 to 45 days.
Maybe someone has one on the shelf some where and would love to part with it. I know I would like to get back in the air. Missed Oshkosh.

I have always been amazed that there is no aftermarket alternative for
these. Or a repair facility if they can be un-potted.

No! I will relate my problems here for any who may have insight. The dealer tech support is stumped and has bumped the problem up to the distributor.

I have gone back through the process of elimination and will try to summarize the experience.

*1000 rpm drop when right ignition switch is down.
no change in rpm with both ignitions switches up when top plug in 3 & 4 is removed
*4-5 omh reading on each ignition coil
 *swap connectors at ignition coil
no change in rpm with both ignitions switches up when bottom plug in 3 & 4 is removed
 *swap connectors at ignition modules
1000 rpm drop when left ignition switch is down.
no change in rpm with both ignitions switches up when top plug in 1 & 2 is removed

This seems to eliminate ignition coils and the trigger coils because of the shift to 1 & 2.
Also, faulty spark plug wires seem to be eliminated.

Does anything other than an ignition module come to mind?

Replacing and circa 1994 engine with a 2012 model was not the "plug and play" exercise anticipated. The forward upper mounting lugs have been relocated about 1/8" which required new/reworked motor mount components.  There is now a fuel return line requiring new plumbing from fuel pressure line back to header tank.

Arlington came along about the time this summary was submitted, now we are in the midst of OSH so it is unlikely that anything will come back for another week or two at best.

Anxious to get the trusty bird back into the air.

 suggestions, comments will be appreciated.

Thanks everyone for your assistance in helping me locate an ignition module. Frank in N. Carolina had an extra used one he fixed me up with. I should be back in the air soon.
