Thank you. I have not seen this problem and to be honest I am not really sure what my rpm is when I shut down. I do know I am at full idle and engine has cooled down before I shut it off. I am more concerned about rpm of engine, at this time of year, at start up. I appreciate the info and will take note of this in the future. My 912UL is on a Lambada and at 1320 lbs gross, it is off the ground in less than 500 ft on a cold morning and climbs to whatever height at 60 knts with no problem. It is amazing. I am used to 300 HP to the side. When I first started flying it I wanted to get out a push. Now I really enjoy it as long as I am not taking a long trip.

 Regards
 Jimmy

I believe I was the one who started this thread. The reverse rotation
occurs occasionally on my 912UL if the rpm at shutdown is too high. It can go

backward for as much as 3 complete turns ! (great for backing into parking
  spaces)
Of course I don't have a slipper clutch so that isn't the problem. I have
had the gearbox re shimmed and that didn't help. I changed to a lighter
prop which did help a little.
Anyway, I think I have the problem solved. If I shut the engine down with
the engine rpm about 1200 or less,it doesn't happen. Sometimes you can see
at prop stoppage that the prop blade wants to flip backward but at that low
rpm ,it doesn't have quite enough inertia.
